Credentials & Qualifications
California Tax Education Council
CTEC is a California non-profit Corporation that registers tax preparers, the second largest segment of tax preparation professionals serving California, following certified public accountants. Anyone who, for a fee, assists with or prepares a state or federal income tax return, excluding certified public accountants, attorneys, enrolled agents, enrolled actuaries, and certain financial institutions or their employees, must be registered with CTEC.
This credential is renewed annually.
Annual Filing Season Program with The iRS
This voluntary program recognizes the efforts of prepares who are generally not attorneys, certified public accountants, or enrolled agents. It was designed to encourage education on filing season readiness.
This credential is renewed annually.
Limited Representation Rights
I may only represent clients whose returns I have prepared and signed, but only before revenue agents, customer service representatives, and similar IRS employees, including Taxpayer Advocate Service.
